Another busy week....

Just had another busy week... with Home Office audit and etc etc... Had a nice chat with the VP of Finance and he shed some light on my future developments and the plans the company have for me... that is of course provided I do not screw up big time along the way. Nice to know that the company is taking care of the staff and my name is on the list of something nice in time to come :) Well, it was a busy week but it was worth the effort and I also managed to go trekking and took some nice shots of a water fall :)

Also attended Pat's son birthday at Mcdonald's. Yes, there is this one and only Mcdonald's in Langkawi. Serve almost exactly the same menu as what we have in Singapore including the chicken wrap (aka McArabia in Riyadh :P) Suppose to go back to Singapore with Cheryl this weekend but too bad my boss here already booked her air ticket back home to KL, so LL, have to stay on the island and watch Star Wars III for the forth time.. kekeke...

It'll be a busy month in July as we prepare for the all important internal audit and the coming budget process which will start in Aug...

Daylight Robbery

For those who drive to JB or KL will know that it is not uncommon to be 'robbed' or extorted for money. Sometimes by policeman... It has happened to me a few times when I'm driving to JB or KL, but it was a surprise to me that this also happen in Langkawi! Yesterday after work, while on our way to Kuah, we were stopped by two policemen and they wanted to give us summons for not wearing our seatbelts. So in order not to inconvenience me, they say can pay a compound fine by cash. And this when I know what it's all about! So paid the 'compound fine' of RM50 to them and left. The best part was one of the senior policeman was the one that was at the road block the other time when I was involved in the accident. I'm sure he recognises me but chose to act blur...

Haizz, what to do, it's their way of life and without these 'compound fines', they actually can barely make ends meet with their salary...

Anyway, the incident didn't affect our enjoyable dinner at the Chinese restaurant :)

Car accident

Haizzz... suay man, on my way to Kuah, I got involved in an accident. :(

There was a road block and I slowed down as I approached the road block. Then from behind, I heard the sounds of screeching brakes, I looked at the rear view mirror and next thing I know, a taxi kissed my behind! Not my behind lah, my car's bumper! Aiyo, right in front of the police somemore! I was alright but the bumper almost gone liao, the taxi was in a worser condition, the front part gone and the radiator and engine were hit bad. Well, being cool as I always am, I steer the car tothe side of the road, got out and asked if the taxi-driver was alright. Next thing I call the car rental owner and he was here to resolve things...

The funny thing was, although it was just a minor accident (at least to me, it was minor), people from around the kampung was out in a flash to look see look see... Even cars that pass by, stopped and got out of the car to kay-poh also :) The best part was an old lady stopped and came to look at the car and me, mumbled a few words and left! Later I learned that she stopped because her grandson was also driving the same car as me, so she thought it was her grandson that got into the accident :)

Haizz... just a few days ago, car breakdown on the mountain top, now car got involved in accident, I think nowadys very suay, must buy flowers to bath liao :P
