I'm a webmaster!

The hotel is organising the first 'Run of Hope' and we are starting to have fund raising activities and getting ready to organise the annual event.

With the internet being the source of information in today's world, naturally the event will have to be 'posted' on the web, and since Cheryl is not around, I've got lots of time in my hands to create a web page for the 'Run of Hope'.

Take a look at the website and support a good cause if you are in Macau

Upgrade!!

A lazy Saturday afternoon and my doorbell rang, surprise, surprise, my order of the 64GB SSD arrived and I wasted no time cloning the disk and installing it into the Mac Mini.

Wow! The speed increase is great! Now the Mini starts up faster, the Apps load faster, and everything seems to zip along at hyperspeed. Cost me a bit but the experience of running the OS on SSD is definitely worth it.

SSD will be the future of storage and primary drive in PCs, laptops and netbooks. Once the price is right, the format will take off and the time to wait for computers to load and reload will be shorten. Hopefully that will lead to more people being efficient and spending time on better things in life :)

Snow Leopard purring in my Mac Mini

Finally got my hands on the new Mac OS - Snow Leopard and spend the night installing it. Had a bit of problems initially as my hard disk was not GUID. Re-partitioning and restoring from Time Machine did the trick and in less than 50 minutes, Snow Leopard is purring on my desktop. The speed increase is not apparent, and honestly I do not see any significant changes. Apple say most of the tweaks are under the hood, so I'll believe them. Regardless, the Mac OS is still a pleasing OS to work on. Windows? What Windows?

Mission accomplished

On my last trip home...

1. Snow Leopard (check)
2. Seinnheiser PMX 80 Sports II headphones (check)
3. Set up mobile broadband on Cheryl's laptop (check)
4. Sell my E-620 (check)
5. Buy new ipod nano for running (check)

Completed whatever I set out to do... happy! :)

I bought the 5th Generation Ipod Nano with video camera and radio, this is to keep me from thinking of the distance while training for the half marathon in Macau coming this December. Hope I can better my old timing many many years ago...

Now that all is done, I hope Cheryl can remember how to use video call on Skype :o

Homeward bound...

Yep, going home to see the Mrs this week. Probably eat my favourite local food - char kway teow, laksa, chicken rice.. etc. Plus watch some movies. Can't wait to have our house handed over, the tenant will move out at the end of October, and we'll finally get to move in to our house which I've been paying but not had a chance to stay in... in fact, I've only seen it once! But once is enough to like it and made a decision to buy :)

Will need to run some errands this trip home...

1. Snow Leopard (A MUST!)
2. Seinnheiser PMX 80 Sports II headphones
3. Set up mobile broadband on Cheryl's laptop
4. Sell my E-620
5. Still thinking...
