Arrival to cold cold Macau

Finally touched down in Macau and into my apartment.... what a big difference from the Maldives... the weather - from 30 degrees celcius to 13 degrees celcius is some change, will definitely take some getting used to :)

But overall, quite a nice city, very vibrant, lots of activities going on, the casinos goes 24 hours, and there is lots of construction going on at the Cotai Strip, particularly The Venetian, it's WOW!!. Macau looks to be the new 'Pearl of the Orient' in the next few years to come if things goes well.

For me, this is my new home for the next 2 years.

My final night in the Maldives....

22nd Jan '08 - Finally completed the hand-over process and now I'm a 'free man' and ready to take on a new challenge of opening a new hotel!! This is my last night in the Maldives.... hmmm... I'm gonna miss this place once I get to Macau. 4 years of island life is quite enough, although I'm still going to another island, but it is a different "beast" altogether.

(Quite possibly) My last dive in the Maldives...

Went for a 2 tank dive this morning... stunning views of the overhang corals, manta rays, eagle eays, turtles, the schools of tuna, trigger fish, napoleon, reef sharks, nemo, lion fish.... each dive is always different, and there is always something new to discover even though it's the same dive site.

Still amazed at the clarity of the water and the abundance of marine life in the Maldives. I guess this will be the thing that I will miss the most once I move to Macau. Nothing beats waking up to a beautiful sunrise, inhaling the the fresh air and looking out at the usual stunning sunset. It is something that I experience every single day and sort of get used to. Now that it's time to leave this paradise, I kinda feel that I did not make the most out of it.... oh well... just one of those things.

6 more days before my departure, I'm all packed and ready to go. Just waiting for my successor to arrive and hand everything over to him on a silver platter...

HAPPY NEW YEAR

A big welcome into 2008 as I prepare for my move to the exciting Asia's Las Vegas - Macau. I'm really excited about moving to Macau, after having spent 4 years on a little isalnd, it is really time to move on. And also it is really a start of my married life, as now it's two persons living under the same household, on the same bed, sharing the same bathroom etc.... Can't have bad habits kicking in and annoying the better half :)

As one grows older, he realises New Year Resolutions usually only lasted for the first 3 weeks and then it dies off... :P So, no New Year resolutions for 2008, just the usual stuff, be a good husband, be a good son (and son-in-law), be a good boss, be a good employee, enjoy my photography, enjoy love, enjoy life, earn lots of money, strike TOTO... :)
